Grand Tour Bronze of Hermes
Italian Grand Tour cast bronze figure of a seated Hermes.
A dark patinated bronze on a verde antico marble base of the winged-footed classical figure. Overall fairly good condition with a few nibbles to the base. Height is 22 cms and the base is 25 cms wide.
Hermes is the Greek god of messengers, travelers and merchants.
Modeled after an original Roman edition discovered at the Villa de Papiri in Herculaneum.
